Courtesy Kathy Lyons The Bayshore Garden Club is approaching its 70th year on the Key Peninsula. They are 25 women who love to garden and educate others on the beauty of gardening, providing information on pest problems and civic involvement.
One of their beautification activities is the upcoming third annual cleanup of Key Center and effort to brighten the highway with hanging flower baskets. Last year, they added more baskets, two park benches (made locally) and welcome banners. Local business donations pay for the supplies. It costs $250 to sponsor each basket. This year the club will present each business with a thank you plaque to display. The club meets every second Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Longbranch fire station. All are welcome.
