Key Pen Community House was all set to follow its dream for expanding its building—until building permits couldn’t be obtained due to an old septic and well system, and the Army Corps of Engineers who volunteered to do the labor got called to fight in Iraq. Now, the center is dreaming up a new plan—building a new house, double in size—only if they could find the land and the money.
