The original painting by artist C.R. (Bob) Bryant to be used for individualized Giclée prints for sale at the event.

Festivities at both the dock and Longbranch Improvement Clubhouse celebrate “50 years afloat” on July 11.

Dock Activities

11a.m. -  Dedication ceremony

Noon - 3 p.m. - Dave Calhoun, local musician plays and sings Tropical Island music in the style of Jimmy Buffett.

Noon – 4 p.m. - Artist C. R. (Bob) Bryant available to talk about his painting of Longbranch, and answer questions about his work. His original oil on canvas of Longbranch dock and Mosquito Fleet boats will be auctioned off in the evening at the clubhouse. Orders will be taken for signed and personalized Giclée prints. Bryant adds something unique to each one. The individualized prints sell for $250.

Noon – 4 p.m. - Assorted activities, including Dinghy races open to all, Life Ring Toss, and other fun things for children and adults.

Clubhouse activities

11:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. - Antique car show – open to all; donation to scholarship fund appreciated. Call 884-1384 or 884-9157 for information.

6:30 - 8:30 p.m. - BBQ Dinner catered by Apogee Restaurant for dinner/dance ticket holders. Tickets are $20, adults only, available at the Longbranch Marina, the LIC Clubhouse, and Sunnycrest Nursery.

7 p.m. – Silent auction for Bryant’s painting, and a raffle for a model of the Virginia V and other items. All raffle items will be available for viewing at the dock until 5 p.m., and then will be moved to the Clubhouse. Tickets, $1 each, can be designated for specific items.

8 p.m. – midnight - Dance to music by "The Daily Flash."

Moorage for three days will be 50 percent off that weekend.

Anniversary committee members include Joe Barrow, John Biggs, Theresa Gano, Michael Hays, Mark Jones, Carolyn Wiley, Dave and Paula Wickland.
