Barbara Whitt, owner of Happy Paws Pet Grooming, moved to the Key Peninsula in 2011 with a dream of one day locating her business in a brick and mortar store. She has been running her business out of her home in Lakebay.

Whitt closed her in-home business on March 8 and on March 18 her dream became a reality.

Happy Paws new location is at 15406 92nd St. KPN. The building was formally a barber shop, and is located across the street from the old Roadhouse restaurant.

Whitt’s shop was completely remodeled and its facilities are state of the art for grooming.

During the last four months Whitt has been training her new assistant, Starla Kazen. She is now fully trained at prepping, bathing, drying and finishing prep.

Whitt handles specialty cuts and other grooming services.

Prices for services vary depending on breed and weight.

The new business hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are always welcome, time providing.

The grand opening is planned for April 2, and Whitt promises a plethora of pet pleasures for preferred pedigrees including free brush outs and nail trimming.
