A section of Wright Bliss road is awash in hues of blue and purple. Blue Willow Lavender Farm has many varieties of lavender that are in bloom.

Owner Bill Ketts said the farm is situated on approximately 15 acres. “We have just over one acre of lavender planted, with a little over 2,500 plants in 11 fields,” he said. “Some of our English lavender varieties are now blooming, including Royal Velvet, Folgate, Lodden Blue, and Hidcote.”

The longer stemmed varieties, such as Grosso and Gros Bleu, will begin blooming in the first couple weeks of the month.

“We have a small store which features fresh and dried lavender bouquets and a variety of lavender products.  Our next wreath class will be held on Saturday, July 24 at 11 a.m. here on the farm.”

The cost for the class, which includes materials and instruction, is  $20 for a small wreath.
