A special display and sales event for local artists will celebrate eight years of Two Waters Arts Alliance with Spring Fling. The March 6 event will be held at the Key Peninsula Civic Center from 7 to 10 p.m.

Pat Meras is the featured artist this year. Her "Vaughn Bay I" is featured on the invitation and poster. She will be judging for the student art awards and will oversee the work on display that evening.

Jazz Muzette with Lorraine Hart will provide musical background for the event. Jacquie Hickey is the caterer for the hors d’oeuvres, and a no host bar will be available.

Purchases may be made throughout the evening.

Tickets are available at the door - $25 non-member/ $20 members. This is a perfect time to join or renew TWAA memberships since members receive a $5 discount as well as discounts for various classes sponsored by TWAA.

Committee members and key volunteers include Mark Runions, Margo and Bruce Macdonald, Kathy and Phil Bauer, Laurie and Doug Austin, Frank and Carol Garratt, Robin Peterson, Merilee Kennedy, Pat and Ruth Thompson, Trish and Dale Goodvin, Bev Pedersen, Britta Brones, Lisa Bryan, Molly Swenson and Laura Mosley. A silent auction will not be held this year, so the focus can be on the exhibit and shop areas for art sales.

Trish Goodvin is coordinator for volunteers and more help can always be used. Interested people contact Goodvin at tgoodvin@yahoo.com.

Artists wishing to participate can check out requirements and an application on the Web site - twowaters.org or bring up to two pieces to the KPCC on March 5, 4-6 p.m. Forms will be available there with no charge to enter. Participating artists are also invited to attend the event free of charge. There will be a student art exhibit coordinated by Merilee Kennedy that features the work of Key Peninsula Middle School, Peninsula High School and Henderson Bay students.
