Memorial procession for Longbranch resident, firefighter

Lt. Dan McDonald, Longbranch resident and career firefighter passed away Nov. 17.

Services were held at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Gig Harbor on Nov. 23, with graveside services at the Longbranch Cemetery.

The procession made its way from the Gig Harbor church, onto Hwy. 16, and along SR 302 with fire personnel and trucks from both Key Peninsula Fire District 16 and the Gig Harbor Fire Department.

McDonald was a lieutenant with the Boeing Fire Department, and was most recently assigned to Auburn and Fredrickson stations on C-Platoon, and was an active member of IAFF Local I-66.

Boeing Fire Department’s Honor Guard acted as pallbearers.

McDonald retired in May 1992 due to illness.
