Three more promotions within FD 16

Guy Allen was promoted to Chief of Key Peninsula Fire Department 16 effective Aug. 27, 2014.  During the Oct. 14 commissioners meeting, three more individuals will be promoted to a series of vacancies.

Hal Wolverton, who has dutifully served the department since 1990, will become the Assistant Chief, to fill Allen’s old position.

Bill Sawaya, a seasoned veteran since 1994, will fill the Battalion Chief position vacated by Wolverton.

Jason Learned, an accomplished firefighter and medic since 2007, will move up to the Lieutenant’s position held by Sawaya.

The public is invited and welcomed to attend the commissioners meeting and observe the swearing in. The meeting starts at 5 p.m., at the department headquarters in Key Center.
